Every tool returns source URLs and observation dates alongside the data. Tools read your workspace; they never write, contact a CRM or fetch the internet.

Tool descriptions keep the same guardrails as the app: published contacts are not deliverability-verified, adviser assets are regulatory AUM, and similarities are heuristic overlap — never a claim of buying intent.

Fetch by CRD
GET https://breakawayiq.xyz/api/v1/firms?ids=123456,654321Up to 100 CRDs per request. Key-less requests fall back to the logged-in session, so the same endpoint powers the web app.
Export CSV
GET /api/v1/export streams the same search (or ?saved=true) as CSV. It is session-authenticated and intended for the logged-in app; use the MCP tools or the firms endpoint for programmatic access.

Each key gets a daily request budget, shared between MCP tool calls and key-authenticated /api/v1/firms requests.

Honest coverage notes
- Data is collected from public sources on a schedule; a record is a snapshot, not a live feed. Cite the observation dates each tool returns.
- Coverage is partial and expanding. Read the current data & coverage table — including the gaps — on the features page.
- People records are source/role observations, not unique humans; identity resolution and verified emails are still in development.
- Tools are read-only in this phase. Write actions (audiences, CRM handoffs) stay in the app until reviewed per-action approval ships.
